June 19 - July 26, 2008 @ Toronto Free Gallery. Featuring artists Swintak, Life of a Craphead, and Darren O'Donnell. Curated by Sarah Todd and Maiko Tanaka
It's great to see that the shelves got built, even with the sordid bunch, sporting shiny Straycat Pompadour haircuts....oops, forgot I'm the dear old (not actually old) mom of one. Looks like ya'all had fun. Yes, ladies- they are professionals
Toronto Free Library is an exhibition that explores the relationships between books and their
owners, libraries and librarians, art spaces and social spaces, book
readers and book lenders, by transforming an art gallery into a temporary library. Curated by Sarah Todd and Maiko Tanaka, the show features artists Swintak, Life of a Craphead, and Darren O'Donnell as Librarians-in-Residence. From ping pong, suspended storylines, to reading in the dark, the artists bring their performance-based art practices to the space of books offering their librarian services to the neighborhood.
Taking place @ Toronto Free Gallery June 19 - July 26, 2008
